According to Politico, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a housing affordability bill on Wednesday (May 21) by an overwhelming majority using an expedited procedure that requires a two-thirds supermajority threshold. The vote came less than 24 hours after receiving Trump administration support for key provisions. The amended 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, a bipartisan measure backed by the White House, will now return to the Senate for consideration and aims to address housing affordability while increasing housing supply and homeownership rates.
