According to Kpler, India faced an LPG supply shortage of approximately 400,000 barrels per day on May 23, with April imports declining to 37,762 barrels per day due to reduced supply from Iran amid ongoing regional tensions. This represents a sharp drop from February's 85,187 barrels per day.
India's domestic LPG production increased to 53,000 barrels per day in April but remains near capacity limits, leaving little room to offset import shortfalls. Kpler's Chief Refining and Supply Analyst Sumit Ritolia noted that as domestic output approaches maximum levels, supply deficits could persist unless imports recover substantially.
