BlockBeats 消息，2 月 26 日，Mizuho 分析師表示，若支付公司 Stripe 推進對 PayPal 的潛在收購交易，將有助於其從傳統商戶支付業務進一步拓展至消費者市場。此前有報導稱，Stripe 正在考慮收購 PayPal 全部或部分業務。
從規模上看，該交易具備可行性。Stripe 最新估值約為 1590 億美元，明顯高於 PayPal 約 430 億美元的市值。分析師認為，PayPal 龐大的用戶基礎以及旗下點對點支付應用 Venmo，將為 Stripe 提供強大的消費端品牌和用戶網絡支持。
此外，PayPal 旗下 Braintree 商戶支付基礎設施也可能增強 Stripe 在支付處理市場的競爭力。分析指出，Braintree 可為 Stripe 帶來約 7000 億美元的總支付交易量（TPV），而 Stripe 當前年 TPV 約為 1.4 萬億美元。（The Block）
