According to RippleX Head of Engineering Ayo Akinyele, the XRP Ledger launched a comprehensive multi-layer security testing framework in late 2025 to strengthen defenses as the network expands into native lending and institutional-grade DeFi. The Lending Protocol (XLS-66) and Single Asset Vault (XLS-65) amendments underwent formal verification, independent audits, AI-assisted analysis, and community testing.

RippleX partnered with Immunefi to conduct a public Attackathon with a $200,000 RLUSD reward pool, attracting over 130 security researchers who analyzed nearly 35,500 lines of C and C++ code. The initiative identified dozens of valid vulnerabilities, including critical issues resolved before deployment. AI-powered red-team exercises and validator testing uncovered additional risks involving system assumptions, spam attack vectors, and vault-related threats that traditional reviews could have missed.
