Base Launches Beryl Upgrade With B20 Tokens, Cuts Withdrawal Time to 5 Days by June 25

ETH-3.16%

Base launched Beryl testnet on June 19, with mainnet deployment scheduled for June 25, 2026. The upgrade introduces B20, a new native token standard for Base that runs through precompiled functions embedded in the network infrastructure while remaining compatible with existing ERC-20 wallets and exchanges. The standard is designed to support stablecoins, real-world assets, and other tokenized instruments with built-in compliance features.

Beryl also reduces the standard withdrawal period from Base to Ethereum from seven days to five days, improving liquidity provider efficiency while maintaining network security. The upgrade incorporates Reth V2, lowering node storage requirements and improving processing efficiency.
