According to U.S. Central Command, on May 23, the U.S. Navy blockade of Iran forced over 100 merchant vessels to change course. More than 200 U.S. military aircraft and naval vessels are participating in the operation, including the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group, USS George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group, USS Tripoli Amphibious Assault Ship, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and multiple guided-missile destroyers.
