According to Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Vadisaw Kosciask-Kamesh on May 22, three F-35 fighter jets arrived in Poland as the first fifth-generation aircraft permanently stationed on NATO's eastern flank. Poland signed a contract in 2020 to procure 32 F-35s from the U.S. worth $4.6 billion, with deliveries scheduled between 2024 and 2030. The U.S. delivered the initial batch in 2024, which was deployed to an Arkansas Air Force base for training Polish pilots.
