South Korea's FIU Transfers Approximately 40 Unregistered Virtual Asset Providers to Enforcement

According to Newsis, South Korea's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has transferred approximately 40 unregistered virtual asset service providers to enforcement authorities. These unregistered entities fall outside the scope of South Korea's Virtual Asset User Protection Act and Specific Financial Transaction Information Report and Use Act, exposing them to risks including personal data breaches, hacking attacks, money laundering, and concealment of criminal funds.
