According to Marathon Digital Holdings' latest DEF14A proxy filing disclosed by Odaily, the bitcoin mining company paid CEO Fred Thiel $4.3 million in personal security costs, including a one-time $430,000 vehicle armor service and $58,000 in home security installation. CFO Salman Khan received $3.946 million in personal security expenses, which included $438,000 for vehicle armor. The company's board noted that given Marathon's public disclosure of substantial bitcoin holdings, executives face elevated security risks distinct from other public companies, justifying these measures.
