Dragonfly's Haseeb: ZEC Vulnerability Poses Minimal Risk to Most Holders; Only 1% of Shielded Funds Unshielded

ZEC6.58%
According to Dragonfly managing partner Haseeb on June 6, the recently patched Zcash vulnerability poses minimal risk to most ZEC holders and exchange users. Haseeb explained that if the vulnerability had been exploited before patching, forged shielded ZEC would need to be converted to transparent ZEC before reaching exchanges like Binance or Coinbase, but transparent ZEC supply can be publicly verified, so any excess would be detected and blocked. The actual risk primarily affects long-term holders of shielded pool assets. Haseeb noted that since the vulnerability disclosure, only around 1% of shielded pool funds have been unshielded, indicating that holders genuinely exposed to risk are not concerned about exploitation.
