China and Papua New Guinea Sign Economic Partnership Agreement on May 21

China's Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and Papua New Guinea's International Trade and Investment Minister Marsh signed the Framework Agreement to Enhance Economic Partnership on May 21 during the APEC Trade Ministers Meeting. According to the agreement, both sides committed to flexible and pragmatic negotiations on specific issues, expand bilateral trade, support Papua New Guinea's investment attraction and industrialization efforts, and deepen cooperation in global supply chains. The two nations will launch follow-up module negotiations aimed at achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
