Cardano's Van Rossem Hard Fork Hits Decision Point on June 15, First Governed by Community Vote

ADA-3.64%

According to IBTimes US, on June 15, Cardano reached the go/no-go decision point for its Van Rossem hard fork, marking the first upgrade initiated through the network's Voltaire on-chain governance framework rather than by Input Output Global unilaterally. The hard fork moves Cardano to Protocol Version 11 and adjusts protocol capabilities and governance parameters. A Constitutional Committee and Delegated Representatives, rather than a founder, will decide whether the upgrade ships. ADA slipped about 1% overnight amid the decision period.

Network readiness exceeded prior upgrades. According to PoolTool and Cexplorer, 52% of nodes self-reported Protocol Version 11 readiness, while 84% of blocks minted in the five days through June 12 came from v11 nodes, with 76% of the current epoch already running the upgrade.
