BlockBeats 消息，2 月 13 日，Sonic Labs 就近期有關 Andre Cronje 和 Sonic 網絡的公開評論發表聲明。2018 年某韓國團隊為 Fantom（現更名為 Sonic）發起 ICO，因管理不善未能交付功能完善產品，大量資金被消耗殆盡，2018 年 6 月起 Andre Cronje 加入並重啟 Fantom。Andre Cronje 加入時財庫中非 FTM 資產不足 500 萬美元，這些資產 2020 年至 2021 年間增長至九位數。
Sonic Labs 補充表示，Andre 並沒有設計最初的 Fantom 代幣經濟模型，模型由最初的韓國團隊在 2018 年創建的，後通過鏈上治理進行修改。Andre 同時並不單方面保管或控制 Sonic 發展基金。Andre 從未放棄過 Fantom/Sonic，設計了最初的技術，拓展了資金，並繼續擔任技術顧問，定期為技術團隊提供指導。不存在任何資金挪用情況。
