Gate News message, April 16 — Adobe unveiled the Firefly AI Assistant, a creative agent that automates multi-step workflows across Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, and Illustrator based on natural language input. Users can describe their desired output in everyday language, and the system automatically coordinates and executes tasks across multiple applications in a single workflow, eliminating the need to manually switch between tools.
Adobe expanded Firefly’s video and image editing capabilities, adding 30+ AI models, studio-grade audio processing, advanced color grading, and precision image retouching. The system features precision flow and AI markup functionality for granular control during editing. Firefly integrates with Adobe Stock, providing creators access to 800+ million assets. Adobe positions Firefly as an agentic creative system where creators set direction and AI handles task execution, marking a shift beyond traditional generative AI.
The Firefly AI Assistant will be available in public beta within weeks, with existing Firefly users able to access some features immediately. David Wadhwani, President of Adobe’s Creative & Productivity division, stated: “We are leading an agentic creative era where creators drive their creative process. Firefly combines the best models and powerful tools to present an entirely new way of creating.”
