China's "15th Five-Year Plan" Outline: Implement National Blockchain Network Construction Project, Participate in International Governance of Digital Currencies

Gate News: On March 17, the full text of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China was released. The plan proposes building a modern infrastructure system, moderately advancing the construction of new infrastructure, and implementing a national blockchain network development project. It clearly states the goal of strengthening core industries of the digital economy, developing new-generation communication technologies, cloud computing, blockchain, and other industries to create internationally competitive digital industry clusters. In terms of international governance, the plan emphasizes actively participating in global governance in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital currency, and cross-border data flow, reaching more consensus on data security, privacy protection, and cross-border law enforcement cooperation, and enhancing international judicial coordination and mutual recognition of rules. Additionally, the plan proposes steady development of digital yuan and accelerating the construction of Shanghai as an international financial center.
