Gate News: On March 16, this week’s major global central banks will announce their interest rate decisions, known as the “Super Central Bank Week.” The Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan will sequentially release their decisions on Thursday (Beijing time). Additionally, the Reserve Bank of Australia, Banco Central do Brasil, People’s Bank of China, Bank of Canada, Bank Indonesia, Sveriges Riksbank, and Swiss National Bank will also hold meetings this week. Except for the Reserve Bank of Australia, which may be an exception, other central banks are expected to keep interest rates unchanged. Due to the impact of the Iran conflict, energy price shock expectations have increased, prompting a hawkish response in the interest rate markets: expectations for rate cuts by the Federal Reserve and Bank of England have been eliminated, with the latter possibly raising rates; expectations for the European Central Bank to hike rates further this year have increased; and the Bank of Japan’s interest rate path has remained relatively unchanged since the start of the war.
