AXIOS: If the U.S. supports, Kurdish forces may lead the next phase of the Iran war

Odaily Planet Daily reports that officials from the United States and Israel, as well as a senior officer from a Kurdish faction of Iran’s Kurdish armed groups, stated that militants from multiple Kurdish factions in Iran are preparing for a possible ground attack on the Iranian regime in the northwest. This is a potential way to increase pressure on the Iranian regime, encourage internal rebellion, and spread to other parts of Iran. U.S. officials said the idea of supporting Kurdish factions in Iran to launch a ground attack originally came from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Mossad, with the CIA later joining the effort. However, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Wednesday that President Trump has not approved any plans to support Kurdish militias in attacking the Iranian regime.
