PANews January 20 News, according to CNBC and Associated Press reports, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell plans to personally attend a U.S. Supreme Court hearing this Wednesday regarding Trump’s attempt to remove Federal Reserve Board member Christopher Waller. This move is rare and is seen as a key battle to defend the independence of the central bank. Previously, Trump accused Waller of loan fraud and sought to remove him; Waller denied any misconduct and filed a lawsuit. If Trump succeeds in removing Waller, he would have the opportunity to control the majority of the Federal Reserve seats. The event occurs amid ongoing criminal investigations involving Powell himself.
