Odaily Planet Daily reports that OpenAI policy chief Chris Lehane stated on Monday at the “Davos” forum that OpenAI is “expected” to launch its first product in the second half of 2026. Since acquiring the company of former Apple design chief Jony Ive last May, CEO Altman has repeatedly hinted at launching future AI devices but has not disclosed specific timelines or product forms. Multiple reports suggest that OpenAI is developing a small, screenless device, possibly a wearable, for user interaction. Lehane refused to reveal any specific details, including whether it will be a button, headphones, or a completely different form. Lehane listed the “device” as one of OpenAI’s major highlights in 2026 and told reporters that “there will be news before the end of the year.” Although he did not promise the device would be launched this year, he stated that OpenAI is “aiming for a launch in the second half of 2026.” (Jin10)
