OpenAI plans to launch its first hardware device in the second half of 2026

PANews January 19 News, according to *Walter Bloomberg, OpenAI policy chief Chris Lehane revealed that the company plans to launch its first hardware device in the second half of 2026. Since acquiring Jony Ive’s AI hardware company io, CEO Sam Altman has previously hinted at a simple, screenless artificial intelligence device, but details remain limited. Lehane stated that OpenAI is expected to release the product by the end of 2026, but the sales date has not yet been determined.
