Elon Musk sues OpenAI and Microsoft for up to $134 billion, claiming "unjust enrichment"

PANews January 18 News, according to Sina Finance, Elon Musk filed documents with the court on Friday stating that he is seeking up to $134 billion in damages from artificial intelligence startup OpenAI and its shareholder Microsoft, claiming that he believes he is entitled to recover “ill-gotten gains” resulting from his early support for the company.
The documents submitted by Musk show that he invested approximately $38 million, accounting for 60% of OpenAI’s initial seed funding, and also assisted in recruiting employees, helping founders and key figures establish connections, and adding credibility to the project at its inception. Musk stated in the documents: “Just as early investors in a startup may receive returns several orders of magnitude higher than their initial investment, the ill-gotten gains (which Musk now has the right to recover) obtained by OpenAI and Microsoft far exceed his original contribution.”
