Polygon lays off nearly 30% of staff after acquisition to accelerate transition to stablecoin payment services

PANews January 16 News, according to BeInCrypto, sources familiar with the matter say that Polygon has recently carried out a large-scale internal layoff, with about 30% of employees being dismissed this week. On social media, several Polygon-related employees and ecosystem members have posted information about resignations or team changes. The layoffs occurred after Polygon shifted its strategy to the stablecoin payment sector and completed acquisitions of Coinme and Sequence totaling $250 million. Kurt Patat, Communications Director of Polygon Labs, confirmed that the layoffs are part of post-acquisition team integration measures, and the company’s total headcount is expected to remain stable.
