PANews January 15 News, according to Cryptopolitan, the decentralized mobile network Helium Mobile announced that it will terminate its early access fee plans starting January 27, including the $5 and $20 monthly packages. The company stated that the adjustment is due to taxes imposed by government and payment partners. Affected users of the $5 plan will receive a $10 account balance as compensation, and if they upgrade to a higher-tier plan (Air or Infinity) before the deadline, they can enjoy a 50% discount for one year and $50 cloud credits. Existing users of the free “zero-dollar plan” will also need to pay relevant taxes in the future. This move has sparked strong dissatisfaction among early users, with many criticizing the company on social media for breaking its initial promise of permanent discounted rates. Helium Mobile founder and CEO Amir Haleem responded by saying that the company did not promise to permanently offer the $5 plan.
