White House: Diplomacy is the United States' "preferred" approach to dealing with the Iran situation

Odaily Planet Daily News: White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a media interview on the 12th that in the face of the current Iran situation, U.S. President Trump considers diplomacy the “first option.” Jean-Pierre stated that Trump “has always emphasized diplomacy as the first choice,” but if he deems it necessary, “he will not hesitate to deploy U.S. military forces.” On the 11th, Trump said that Iran has contacted U.S. government officials and proposed negotiations, “meetings are being arranged.” Meanwhile, the U.S. is considering a series of measures to respond to the Iran situation, including military actions and other “very tough options.” Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian said at a foreign diplomats’ meeting in Tehran on the 12th that Iran is prepared to negotiate with the U.S. on the basis of “mutual respect,” but at the same time, has prepared for war.
