Japanese Foreign Minister Tetsunori Mogi will attend the G7 summit for the first time as a member of the Takashi Cabinet.

Jin10 Data, November 7th: According to Japan’s Kyodo News, Japanese Foreign Minister Tetsuo Mogi announced at a press conference on the 7th that he will visit Canada from the 11th to the 13th to attend the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. This will be his first time attending a G7 meeting since taking office as Foreign Minister in the Takashi Cabinet. The main topics will include supporting Ukraine, which is under Russian attack, and the situation in the Gaza Strip in the Palestinian Autonomous Region. Mogi emphasized at the press conference, “In the face of a severe international situation, it is crucial for the G7, which shares common values and principles, to unite and respond to achieve a free and open international order.” The Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will also confirm cooperation to strengthen the rare earth supply chain and maritime security.
