US media: Whitaker will travel to the Middle East next week to promote the implementation of the Gaza protocol.

On October 18, Jin10 reported that according to AXIOS, a U.S. official and informed sources revealed that U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, Witteck, is expected to travel to the Middle East on Sunday night to follow up on the implementation of the agreement to end the Gaza conflict. Currently, the implementation of the first phase of the agreement has been largely successful, with both sides having released hostages, Israel having withdrawn from most areas of Gaza, and a ceasefire having been achieved. Meanwhile, the agreement remains very fragile, as Israel claims that Hamas has been slow to return the remains of hostages, leading to escalating tensions. Additionally, the situation on the ground remains extremely unstable. Although preliminary work on implementing the second phase of the agreement has already begun, there are still many unknowns regarding the key issues of disarming Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza.
