Tron’s MAGA Moment? Justin Sun Commits $100M to TRUMP Meme Coin

Justin Sun, the founder behind the Tron crypto network, announced Wednesday that Tron plans to scoop up $100 million worth of the meme token official TRUMP. The reveal came after the X account @Gettrumpmemes shared earlier this week that TRUMP will soon be integrated with the Tron blockchain.

Tron founder Justin Sun has taken a strong liking to the TRUMP meme coin. Back in Jan., he made a $75 million investment in World Liberty Financial’s WLFI tokens—a move that also landed him an advisory spot at the company. Over the past 30 days, it was revealed that WLFI’s USD1 coin launched on the Tron network, and on July 9, Sun announced his team is putting $100 million toward buying TRUMP tokens.

“We are committed to buying $100M of TRUMP,” Sun said on the social media platform X. “Together, TRUMP and TRON are the future of Crypto,” he added. Prior to Sun’s X post, earlier this week, the X account @Gettrumpmemes revealed that the official TRUMP meme token was coming to Tron.

TRUMP jumped 7% today against the U.S. dollar, and as of 10:45 p.m. Eastern, it’s trading at $9.18 per coin. Tied to the 47th U.S. President Donald Trump, the meme token ranks among 2025’s standout gainers—up 114.45% since its debut. Still, it’s fallen 87% from its all-time high of $73.43 per coin.

When the TRUMP meme coin dinner took place earlier this year, Sun was the leading holder of the token and attended the gala. Discussing the $100 million play, Sun stated, “This move highlights our belief in collaborating across ecosystems to grow the crypto landscape with communities such as @Gettrumpmemes.”
