Upbit lists Axelar (AXL) and Balance (EPT), price surges

The leading South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit just listed two tokens Axelar (AXL) and Balance (EPT) on June 10th. AXL is traded with USDT and KRW, while EPT only supports the USDT pair.

Immediately after the announcement, both tokens surged strongly:

  • AXL increased by 65% in 24 hours, reaching 0.53 USD, with a market cap exceeding 500 million USD, becoming the 114th largest digital asset.
  • EPT increased by 22%, trading at 0.0078 USD, with trading volume up by 85% to 19.7 million USD.

The listing event takes place against the backdrop of a recovering global crypto market, with a market capitalization reaching 3.5 trillion USD, increasing by 1.8%. Specifically, the trading volume on Upbit has surged by 60%, hitting 1.8 billion USD.

Recent listing rounds by Upbit have also recorded a similar price increase effect: SOON increased by 15%, DEEP doubled, and WCT increased by 36%.
