UK and Japan Plan £18 Billion Clean Energy Deal with £9 Billion Wind Investment on June 14

According to PM Starmer's office statement, the UK and Japan plan to reach agreement on a clean energy investment deal worth £18 billion (USD 24.1 billion) on June 14, with UK-Japan collaboration expected to create new opportunities in offshore wind, infrastructure, and financial services.

The agreement will include £9 billion in Japanese investment to develop a 5.9 GW floating offshore wind project in the UK, generating sufficient clean electricity to power 8 million households.
