Stifel Raises S&P 500 Year-End Target to 7,800, Maintains AI Capex Stock Holdings

According to the latest Stifel report, the investment bank raised its S&P 500 year-end target to 7,800 points, a 4% increase, citing robust corporate earnings growth. Stifel strategist Thomas Carroll projects S&P 500 components' earnings per share (EPS) to reach approximately $337 over the past 12 months, a 26% increase year-over-year. Despite acknowledging similarities between current AI investment enthusiasm and the 1990s hardware boom, with emerging bubble signs in AI stock valuations, Stifel will continue holding AI capital expenditure beneficiary stocks until industry momentum peaks, while monitoring valuation and market risk shifts.
