Russia's Cryptocurrency Regulation Bill Misses July 1 Deadline, Review Delayed to Coming Weeks

According to Bits.media, on June 25, Russia's fiscal policy chief Alexei Yakovlev admitted the government's cryptocurrency regulation bill cannot take effect by July 1 as originally planned. The bill passed its first reading on April 21 and is prepared for a second reading, but will be "slightly delayed." Yakovlev said the State Duma's Financial Markets Committee will review the bill in "the coming weeks," making a July 1 passage impossible.
