Crypto wealth platform Nexo announced Wednesday that it renewed its title sponsorship of the DP World Tour's Nexo Championship, a professional golf tournament hosted at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The event runs August 20-23 with a $3 million prize pool, marking the second consecutive year of Nexo's title sponsorship. Nexo committed to the sponsorship as part of its three-year deal with the DP World Tour, seeking to reach what the firm describes as a "financially active global audience" through the sport.
Sponsorship Details and Branding Strategy
Nexo's branding will be "deeply embedded" throughout the multi-day event, according to Konstantin Rangelov, Nexo's Brand Marketing and Global Sponsorships Manager. The firm's logos and signage will appear on tee-boxes, leaderboards, and broadcast-facing positions. Nexo will also host a hospitality program at the tournament and will measure success through earned media, social impressions, and broadcast exposure metrics.
"The DP World Tour team have been doing partnerships for a long time and they always make sure that the title partner is at the heart of the event, providing a platform for maximum visibility and engagement," Rangelov told Decrypt.
Nexo's Sports Partnership Portfolio
The digital wealth platform maintains sponsorship deals across multiple sports. Nexo serves as the official crypto partner of tennis tournament the Australian Open, sponsors Argentina's national soccer team, and partners with Audi Revolut's Formula 1 team.
Golf holds particular strategic value in Nexo's portfolio. "It's a sport defined by precision, long-term thinking, and a financially active global audience—exactly the profile we want to reach," Rangelov said.
U.S. Market Re-entry Plans
Nexo previously phased out its U.S. products and services after facing regulatory challenges in California in 2022. Earlier this year, the firm announced plans to re-enter the U.S. market using digital asset trading infrastructure provided by Bakkt.
