According to The Block, New York Supreme Court Judge Kathy J. King suspended a lawsuit seeking ownership of 39,069 dormant Bitcoin wallet addresses on June 8, with a hearing on a key amicus brief scheduled for July 14. The plaintiff, using the pseudonym "Noah Doe" and two shell companies, invoked New York's lost property law to claim the wallets. Attorney Ian R. Cohen filed an opposing amicus brief, arguing that lost property law applies to tangible items, while blockchain addresses remain publicly visible; loss of access due to security issues differs from voluntary abandonment.
