According to China Central Television and a press briefing held by Changzhi city, Shanxi Province on May 23, a methane explosion at Liushenyu Coal Mine operated by Shanxi Tongzhou Group claimed 82 lives, left 2 missing, and injured 128 people. The accident occurred on May 22 at 19:29 in the underground section of the coal mine located in Qinyuan County.
