According to Yonhapinfomax, KB Kookmin Bank has initiated recruitment of a new independent director on July 14, following the resignation of existing independent director Moon Soo-bok. The bank's board structure changed from an 8-member to 7-member composition, now consisting of 3 internal directors and 4 independent directors. Moon, a Kaist computer science professor who has served since March 2022, recently took on the role of head of the National Strategy Research Division at the National Research Foundation of Korea, prompting his mid-term departure.
