KB Insurance Posts 278.1B KRW Q2 Profit, Up 38.6% Amid Market Recovery

According to the Korean insurance industry on July 27, major insurance subsidiaries of financial holding companies posted better-than-expected first-half results in 2026. KB Insurance's second-quarter net profit reached 278.1 billion Korean won, up 38.6% from the first quarter. Shinhan Life reported 187.5 billion won in Q2 profit, surging 84.3% quarter-over-quarter, while Dongyang Life posted 67 billion won, up 12.2% year-over-year. The recovery was driven by improved underwriting performance, with general insurance returning to profitability, and stronger investment returns as market conditions stabilized.
