According to GIC's latest annual report, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund reported that its 20-year inflation-adjusted annual returns fell to 3.4% as of March 2026, down from 3.8% a year earlier and marking the lowest level since 2020. GIC said Chinese AI models such as DeepSeek and Kimi are accelerating global AI adoption by driving down application costs. The fund, which has invested billions in AI infrastructure, developers, and applications, maintains AI as a core investment focus while remaining cautious about valuation risks. Asset allocation shifted notably, with Americas exposure rising from 44% to 53%, while Asia-Pacific declined from 28% to 22%.
