Italy's Deputy PM Tajani Cancels U.S. Visit Over Trump's Remarks on PM Meloni

According to Jin10, Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani canceled his scheduled visit to the United States on June 19, citing offensive remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump. Tajani, who was set to visit on June 21–22, stated that Trump's comments were "serious and offensive" and "insulted all of Italy." Trump had told Italy's La7 television that Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was "eager to take a photo" with him at the G7 summit, claiming he agreed only out of "sympathy." Meloni responded by calling Trump's statements "fabricated," stating, "Italy and I never beg for anything."
