According to CNN, Iran’s newly established Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) issued new regulations on May 7 requiring all vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to submit detailed information before passage. The document, titled “Vessel Information Declaration,” contains over 40 questions requesting vessel names, identification numbers, former names, flag state, and destination. It also mandates disclosure of registered shipowners, operators, crew nationalities, and cargo details. All information must be submitted via email prior to transit. The PGSA stated that “complete and accurate information is essential for processing vessel transit applications,” adding that applicants bear responsibility for any errors or omissions in their submissions.
