India's NPCI Launches Drunix Open-Source Blockchain Platform on June 17

According to NPCI, the National Payments Corporation of India launched Drunix on June 17, 2026—an enterprise-grade, open-source blockchain platform designed to accelerate tokenization and digital asset ecosystem adoption. Built as an advanced fork of Hyperledger Fabric, Drunix enables organizations to develop and scale multi-organization blockchain networks while maintaining privacy, governance standards, and interoperability. The platform incorporates architectural improvements to enhance transaction throughput and operational efficiency. NPCI Chief Technology Officer Vishal Kanvaty stated that the initiative reflects the organization's commitment to strengthening India's digital infrastructure through open-source collaboration and supporting enterprise blockchain adoption across sectors.
