Guinea to Announce Bauxite Export Controls in June, Targeting Market Share of One-Third Global Output

Guinea, the world's largest bauxite producer, plans to announce export control measures in June to regulate output of the mineral used in aluminum production. The country accounts for more than one-third of global bauxite production. Guinea's bauxite exports surged 25% in 2025 to 183 million tons, with growth accelerating further in the first three months of 2026.
