Foreign Investors Sold 12 Trillion Won in Korean Stocks While Buying 600 Billion Won in ETFs, July 1-16

According to Korea Exchange and Koscom CHECK, foreign investors sold over 12 trillion won in domestic stocks from July 1-16, while purchasing approximately 600 billion won in ETFs. On the KOSPI market, foreign investors recorded net sales of 12.1 trillion won, with sales activity outweighing purchases on eight of twelve trading days. In contrast, ETF purchases dominated ten of twelve trading days during the same period.

The largest ETF purchases included KODEX Leverage at 195 billion won, KODEX 200 at 180.6 billion won, and KODEX 200 Futures Inverse 2X at 130 billion won. Single-stock leveraged ETFs showed mixed activity, with Samsung Electronics leverage products seeing net purchases of 22.7 billion won while SK Hynix leverage products were net sold at 122.1 billion won.
