Elon Musk Says Traditional Coding May Be Obsolete by Year's End

At a recent xAI all-hands meeting, Elon Musk said traditional coding will become unnecessary by year's end, as artificial intelligence systems will generate optimized binary code directly from natural language inputs, bypassing traditional compilers. "The AI just creates the binary directly and the AI can create a much more efficient binary than can be done by any compiler," Musk stated, adding that routine coding is "an intermediate step that actually will not be needed probably by the end of this year."
