Commonwealth Fusion Systems' Physics Validated by Five Peer-Reviewed Papers, Eyes 2030s Power Grid Debut

According to Commonwealth Fusion Systems, five peer-reviewed papers have validated the underlying physics of its first commercial-scale fusion power plant. The company aims to supply energy to the grid via a facility in Virginia by the early 2030s, with a demonstration unit currently under construction in Devens, Massachusetts. As of mid-2025, global fusion investment reached $9.7 billion, with nearly one-third directed to Commonwealth Fusion Systems, according to the Fusion Industry Association.
