According to The Energy Mag, Bitdeer broke ground on Tuesday near Fox Creek on a 101 megawatt natural gas power plant combined with a 100 megawatt data center facility. The $155 million investment, or about C$214 million, is expected to be energized in the second quarter of 2027. The facility will initially support bitcoin mining while retaining flexibility to host future high-performance computing and AI applications, operating under Alberta's bring-your-own-generation framework with on-site power generation and a 99 megawatt grid interconnection.
