CME: WTI Crude Oil, Silver and Copper See Surging Trading Volume and Open Interest on June 1

According to CME data released June 2, on June 1, crude oil and other commodity futures showed mixed activity. WTI crude oil trading volume surged to 917,287 contracts, up 178,710 from the prior session, with open interest at 2,030,080 contracts, up 6,940. Brent crude oil trading volume rose to 169,429 contracts, up 37,905, while open interest increased to 247,634 contracts, up 6,365. Silver futures saw trading volume of 46,471 contracts, up 4,354, and open interest of 102,025 contracts, up 1,994. Copper futures recorded trading volume of 91,626 contracts, up 46,050, with open interest at 273,958 contracts, up 6,962. Natural gas futures, by contrast, saw trading volume decline to 447,169 contracts, down 26,921, and open interest fell to 1,668,389 contracts, down 7,763.
