According to Xinhua, on May 25, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Beijing to discuss deepening bilateral relations and cooperation. Li stated that 2026 marks the tenth anniversary of China and Serbia's comprehensive strategic partnership, and expressed willingness to strengthen economic and trade cooperation through trade agreements and new investments in artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and infrastructure. Li also highlighted China's commitment to advancing maintenance and operation of the Budapest-Belgrade railway, a flagship Belt and Road Initiative project. Vucic affirmed Serbia's unwavering support for China on core interests and pledged to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, clean energy, and cultural exchanges.
