Bitcoin breaks through $79,000!
In this kind of market, I have only one word for my strategy: wait.
The market is crazy.
Bitcoin has surged nearly 2% in 24 hours, with the $79,000 mark just around the corner.
Everyone in the group and on the forum is shouting "Break 80K," "Hold tight," "Add to positions."
What about my actions?
I haven't done anything.
Not that I wasn't tempted. Watching my spot holdings float with gains, who wouldn't want to add more to amplify profits?
But I know one thing clearly: decisions driven by emotion are nine times out of ten wrong.
Over the years of trading, the most valuable lesson I've learned is to distinguish between "what should be done" and "what I want to do."
When the market is good, you want to chase highs, leverage up, go full position.
But what you should do is check your stop-loss levels, control your position size, and verify your logic.
When the market is bad, you want to cut losses, close the app, swear never to touch crypto again.
But what you should do is analyze calmly and look for opportunities where you've been unfairly beaten down.
Today, Bitcoin broke above $79,000, and the whole market is celebrating.
All the analyses I hear are good news: geopolitical safe-haven, capital inflows, technical breakthroughs.
All of these are true, but the more good news there is, the more cautious we should be.
Today, I only did one thing: move my stop-loss from $77,500 up to $78,200.
This is part of my trend trading system's trailing stop rule, automatic and emotionless.
I'm also watching Polymarket, not rushing to bet.
Can BTC reach $80k? I think the probability is quite high.
But betting at this level, the odds are not friendly enough for me.
After trading for a long time, you'll realize that 80% of the market time should be "doing nothing."
The truly worthwhile opportunities might only come a few times a year.
Right now, I'm just waiting.
Waiting for what?
Either Bitcoin breaks volume-wise above $80,000 and stabilizes, or it pulls back to test support.
Once the signal is clear, I’ll act—much safer than rushing in now. $BTC
