Been thinking a lot lately about which crypto could actually make money in 2025 and beyond. Not the pump-and-dump stuff, but legit projects with real fundamentals. Here's what I'm watching closely.
Ethereum is still my core holding. Yeah, I know everyone says this, but there's a reason. The development happening on Ethereum right now is actually insane - we're talking about real-world asset tokenization, institutional money flowing in through spot ETFs, and consumer apps finally ready to launch. At $2.44K, it's not cheap, but the network effects are too strong to ignore. The ecosystem around it is just miles ahead of anything else. I'm holding all my ETH into 2025 because I genuinely believe we're early on this cycle.
Solana's been a wild ride, but I'm not done with it yet. The speed is real, the fees are basically nothing, and the community behind it is actually one of the most dedicated I've seen in crypto. Sure, there are tradeoffs with how fast they've built the network, but at $89.97, it's a way better entry point than Ethereum. I keep an eye on whether they're delivering on tech improvements, and so far so good. There's room for a second major player in this space, and Solana could be it.
Now here's where it gets interesting - Ronin. Gaming blockchain that actually has games people are using. Sky Mavis built Axie Infinity, and they haven't stopped building since. They've acquired over 10 games on their network, and one of them, Pixels, is crushing it with daily active users. At just $0.10, the entry cost is almost nothing. If blockchain gaming actually takes off - and honestly, I think it will - this could run hard.
BasedAI caught my attention because it's solving something that matters: privacy in AI. The team is solid, the tech is legit - they're building decentralized infrastructure for large language models with built-in privacy. Basically giving AI the ability to exist outside the big tech companies. At $3.48, it's positioned right at the intersection of two massive trends. Worth watching as this space develops.
And then there's Aerodrome. This one's been my most profitable trade, but also my most volatile. It's a DEX on Coinbase's Base chain, and here's the thing - Base is about to explode. More growth on Base means more trading volume, and volume directly feeds into AERO's price. The team knows what they're doing, they've been building this for years. At $0.45, it's the cheapest on this list but also carries the most risk. Could be huge or could get rekt, that's just the nature of it.
The real question isn't which crypto will make you rich - it's which ones have actual utility and adoption. These five are the ones I'm actually holding because I see the fundamentals. Do your own research though, because this space moves fast and nothing's guaranteed.
