In his later years, Darwin developed a habit of taking a walk every afternoon along the path in his garden. He called this path the "Thinking Lane," which took about fifteen minutes to walk around once, and he would walk it five times each day. One time, Huxley came to visit and curiously asked him, "Don't you find it boring to walk back and forth on this path every day?" Darwin replied, "I'm not just walking; I'm thinking about things." Huxley then asked, "So, what have you come up with?"
